Metal
file cabinets simply can't match a handcrafted wooden one in beauty.
Designed with attractive raised front panels in either a two drawer (29''
high) or four drawer (53'' high) cabinet. Both sizes are 15-13/16'' wide
and 22-3/4'' deep. Plan uses basic rabbet and dado joinery.
Recapture an important part of history by building a traditional
styled Icebox. The Ice box may be modified to serve as a storage
cabinet for small appliances, electronic units, kitchen supplies, bathroom
goods or any special purpose.
This project is appropriate for intermediate woodworkers. Construction
methods used include tongue and groove joinery and doweling. Cabinet
features basic frame and panel and face frame design. Decorative
eliminates include cove molding and router details. A router and other
common workshop tools are needed for construction.
Primary building materials include hardwood plywood and cove molding.
To complement a traditional appearance, authentically styled reproductions
of icebox hardware should be installed.
Dimension for the Icebox is: 47-1/4" High x 43-1/2" Wide x
22" Deep.

Plans from Today's Woodworker (Issue 18) for a Colonial-style Bunk Bed.
Build this
reproduction of a 100 year old original discovered in an obscure little
antique shop in Iowa. Plan from Today's Woodworker, Issue 34.
Finished cupboard measures 61'' high x 38'' wide x 19'' deep.
Complete this project with pre-punched tins. Made of unplated steel,
pie safe tins can be waxed, painted or antiqued. Tins are 10'' x 14''
overall. Pattern is 8-1/2'' x 10-1/2'' .

Multi Functional ArmoireThree interior designs make this cabinet a most versatile piece of
furniture. One interior design turns this armoire into a distinctive
entertainment center that features separate compartments for a TV, VCR and

Traditional Corner Cabinet
Create
this handsome corner cabinet using the detailed plans in Today’s

Convertible
table has four functional drawers. 10-page project plan includes

diagram. Metal lift-up table mechanism lets you raise your coffee
table to dining height in seconds! Mechanism raises the platform
6-1/2" and hides away when not in use. All-steel construction
with baked epoxy finish requires no maintenance. Minimum size of top:

Classic Bed Plans
This
solidly built bed will be in your family for generations! Classic
design features tapered leg bottoms and matching arches in the
headboard and footboard. Bed measures 71" wide x 88-1/2"
deep x 45" high. Plan includes 15-page instruction booklet,
four 18" x 24" drawings and materials list. Bed consists
of headboard, footboard, two side rails, stretcher and four mattress
slats.
It’s the details that make this Classic Bed so appealing. The
tapered leg bottoms. The matching arches in the headboard and
footboard. The stopped chamfers on the corners of the legs. Combine
this with solid wood construction, and you have a bed that will be
in your family for generations.
The Classic Bed consists of a headboard, a footboard, two side
rails, a stretcher, and four matress slats. The rails are connected
to the headboard and footboard with knock-down bed rail fasteners
which can be easily disassembled for moving or storage.
The Classic Bed shown in the photo is made of solid cherry. It’s
71" wide by 88-1/2" deep by 45" high (queen-size –
twin and full-size variations are included). It’s finished with
cherry stain and a coat of tung oil/urethane combination finish.

Chimney Cupboard Plan
Easy-to-build Pine chimney cupboard is built in two parts - an upper and lower case.

Chimney Cupboard PlanThis Chimney Cupboard is built in two parts -- an upper and
a lower case. And to make it easy to build, the construction of
both is almost identical.
For a country-style project like this, no other wood seems
quite as appropriate as pine. The Chimney Cupboard in the photo
was built with #2 common pine. Using pine also allows you to use
commercial grade moldings and beaded boards for the back. These
are available at home centers and lumberyards.
Our Chimney Cupboard is 23-1/2" wide x 78" high x
13-3/4" deep. We stained it with honey maple stain and then
topped it with an oil finish to give it a warm, old-time look.
The Chimney Cupboard plans include a fourteen-page step-by-step
booklet and five 18" x 24" sheets of shop drawings. You
also get a printed shopping list that includes all the wood,
supplies, and tools you'll need to build this cupboard.
Craftsman-Style Coffee Table Plans
Build this traditional Oak Craftsman-style coffee table with either a beveled glass top or solid wood top.
Table measures 30" wide x 38" long x 17" high.

Craftsman-Style Coffee Table PlansThis traditional oak Craftsman-Style Coffee Table is enhanced with
a beveled glass top and a series of narrow spindles. The dimensions are
30" wide by 38" long by 17" high. The table in the photo is
made of solid quarter-sawn white oak, as were the original Craftsman
furniture designs. Mortise and tenon construction is used to join the legs
to the end rails and the stretchers. And the plans include a special,
time-saving technique to create the mortises for the spindles on the ends
of the table.
Note: If you prefer a more traditional look for your table, this plan
also includes instructions for building a solid wood top.
The Craftsman-Style Coffee Table plan includes a twelve-page
step-by-step booklet and three 18" x 24" sheets of shop
drawings. You also get a pre-printed shopping list you can take to your
local lumber yard or home center. The list includes all the wood,
