The three dimensional assembly

Mission Style through mortises and the bottom stretchers are slightly
curved.

Dual Purpose Game and Family Table Top Plan

Furniture Design's Christopher Murphy ingeniously combines beauty and
function in this design. Includes six drawers with blind dovetail
joints and a center door with inlay. Choose your hardware from our
wide range of Mission and Arts and Crafts products. Suggested material
is solid oak and 1/4'' 3/4'' oak plywood. Skill level intermediate.
Completed project measures 44'' high by 52'' wide by 19-1/2'' deep.

Twin
Screw Vise (available separately as well as part of kit) eliminates
racking and equalizes pressure, especially on uneven surfaces. Spring
loaded lock pin allows screws to be operated independently. Jaw
capacity is 12'' . Capacity can be increases with the use of Bench
Dogs. Connecting chain is long enough to space vise screws 16'' apart.
Just make wooden jaws to size for your bench. Has low profile ABS
Plastic chain cover. Easy to install, all installation hardware and

Weekend Workbench PlanConstruction lumber and a weekend's work can produce the most
used tool in the shop -- a workbench.
The Weekend Workbench features a base made of 2x4s, and a
solid-core door for a top. The bottom shelf and the optional drawers
add a lot of useful storage. It may take a weekend to build, but it
will probably last a lifetime.
What makes the Weekend Workbench simple is the joinery. Though
the frame ends are assembled with lap joints, they’re made by
simply gluing together 2x4s instead of making difficult cuts. And
the rails are joined with a draw-bolt system that allows you to
disassemble the bench if you ever need to move it.
We recommend a solid core door for the top (see photo). Solid
core doors make excellent benchtops. They are available at home
centers and builders supply companies. Ask for a ''second'' or
slightly damaged door. These are typically sold for a fraction of
the retail price. Or you can make the top from two sheets of 3/4''
plywood and a sheet of 1/4'' hardboard.
